Well Said, Belle!

Belle de Jour speaks out. And all the more power to her. Visit her blog here.

Why should we be split down the middle just because society doesn't approve of our sexual lives? Connection is valid, no matter what the route. I'm fed up of people who don't recognise that; and so, it seems, is Belle.

I've been telling more and more people, recently, about this blog because I'm done with those who cheapen what is strong, kind, real. What Belle has done by revealing her true identity is brave and righteous. I'm learning from her. And maybe someday, I'll have an inkling of her courage.

Until then, bear with me.

I'm growing.

Broken Hearted? Sing it.

I've a friend who has recently been slighted by erotic love gone sour, but she'll recover, she's a fiery lass. Well, what's better at healing than music? So here are some things you can sing to your wounded side, darling, when you need to make a triumph of the pain:

1.

"Now Cinderella, don't you go to sleep
It's such a bitter form of refuge
Don't you know the kingdom's under seige
And everybody needs you..."

From "A Dustland Fairytale" by the Killers

2.

"I saw her today at the reception
In her glass was a bleeding man
She was practiced at the art of deception
I could tell from her bloodstained hands.

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometime, you just might find
You get what you need."

From "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by The Rolling Stones

3.

"If I go missing
Don't you worry for me
I'm just writing
My side of the story..."

"M.E.X.I.C.O.C.U" by The Kills

4.

"Run, neon tiger, there's a price on your head
They'll hunt you down and gut you,
I'll never let them touch you..."

From "Neon Tiger" by The Killers

5.

"And what it all comes down to
Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet
Cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving the peace sign..."

From "One Hand in My Pocket" by Alanis Morrissette

6.

"He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I'm grown
And in your way, in this blue shade
My tears dry on their own..."

From "Tears Dry On Their Own" by Amy Winehouse

7.

"I get knocked down, but I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You're never gonna keep me down..."

From "Tubthumping" by Chumba Wumba
